De Suiker Events is a unique event venue, located in a former sugar factory in Groningen. As one of the largest event locations in the North, they offer five distinctive spaces that can be used separately or combined for the perfect event.
De Suiker Events has been using MICE since 2019. They started small, as they were building their operations from scratch—so any step forward was already a big improvement! At that time, they were expanding their team and growing not just in the number of events they hosted but also in how they managed them.

Before MICE, they relied on a proposal system combined with scattered documents like Excel sheets — and a lot of knowledge stored in people’s heads. But as their team grew and events became more complex, having the right information in one place became essential. That’s where MICE came in as the perfect solution.
Bigger team, more events
Team lead Maarten explains: "As our organization evolves, we gradually make use of more features in MICE." New team members pick up the system quickly, starting with access to task lists and schedules. As they take on more responsibilities, they gain access to the proposal management tools as well.
Maarten adds: "The ideas we share with MICE actually get implemented. We know things don’t happen overnight, but it’s great to see our feedback being taken seriously. MICE is always evolving."
De Suiker Events is a dynamic venue. With its bare-bones industrial space, each event is built from the ground up based on the client’s vision—making customization essential. MICE makes this process smoother by allowing clients to create their own packages.
